Innocent or the appearance thereof

Over at OSNews.com, they've posted another angle on the whole IP Innovation, LLC lawsuit and connections to Microsoft:

In our western world, we have fought for a modern justice system, a system we (forcefully) try to impose upon the rest of the world. Two of the most important pillars of this justice system is that one is innocent until proven otherwise, and that past actions should not influence the guilty/innocent decision. Up until now, the people accusing Microsoft of being behind all this have presented us with little to no substantial evidence, and hence, Microsoft is innocent in this particular case.

They are technically correct. We should consider Microsoft innocent until proven guilty. However, given Microsoft's track record funding lawsuits to undermine confidence in Linux, it's no coincidence that anytime something like this happens people immediately look toward Redmond. So yes, right now Microsoft is innocent insofar as we don't have very good evidence they are behind this lawsuit. Any bets as to how long it will take before we find some more evidence they are behind it?
